Hey Guys and Gals
My girlfriend and I took out the artifact boat out for a little while and hunted down some creeks in Tennessee. The weather was great and we fished a while and tried some new artifact spots. We did not find that much but did get two decent ones. Found lots of pottery and some broke bases and one large (broke) Blade tip. Here are the pictures in the mud and in hand. A Picture of what our view was coming back up ole man river and a picture of the hound. He was attacking every fish we reeled in and had more fun watching him than anything. I forgot to shoot all the brokes and pottery but it was a tackle box full so we feel this new area might be OK to put on our list of hunts.
Hope you all had a great weekend. First pretty weekend here in months.
Any thoughts on an I.d on the black bifurcated base point are very welcome. Hope you enjoy.
Regards ,
TnMountains

Re: Tennessee River Hunt 5-31

nice Tn, good pics and finds. I like that little beveled piece, pretty material. The bifurcate looks like a Stanley to me, maybe Kanawa? not sure but it's a beauty.

Re: Tennessee River Hunt 5-31

Nice finds TN. I really love the colors on that little balde and the bifucate is a dandy. I don't believe it's a MacCorkle though since it's too small. It looks more like a Kanawha if it was found in my area. The river looks very nice and your dog looks like a killer. lol

Nice finds! The bifurcate looks like a MacCorkle to me, but I ain't sure if you have them down there.

The base and barbs kinda reminded me of a lost lake they way they came straight down but the bifuracate threw me. I thought maybe Macorkle.... But after looking at the Stanly that thirty7 said I think thats it. The example they showed was from here, duhh. We have not see them like that lots of kirks though. I am thinking Stanly. Thanks Huntman,thirty7 and yeah Dorkfish the dog is a real fish Killer,,, : )

I shot some pictures of my Girl friends collection and am going to do a post for her. She is a technology specialist and I wish she would join the forum but says she does not have time. Keep your eyes open for it. She is pretty good and I enjoy sharing the hunts with her.
Later,

Yes its less than an hour away.Have not been though in a long time. It gets a little crowded for me.I always enjoyed biking Cades Cove and climbing chimneys. You need to check them out.

Have fun at Travis that is a good place to hunt. Last time I talked to a friend of mine in Austin he said the water was way down. Good luck this weekend.
