Cool finds :icon_thumleft: nature does weird things. I found what I thought was a really old axe head, now I'm convinced its a hot rock that happens to be shaped exactly like a really old axe head. Too scared to whack it with a hammer. I think an air pocket or now decayed organic matter may have caused the hole in that rock.

where i wander i find these stones with hexagonal holes all the time..cool rocks...100% natural.

Maybe.. The double holes got me wondering

Couldn't pass it up regardless..... But let's not just focus on my rock....

I zoomed in and the holes are definitely natural and not drilled. They just happened to have eroded like that. Very cool, but also very natural. I would have brought it home too for the rock garden by the fish pond. Shame that tip is broken off the Palmer Point. That would have been a killer example.

Appreciate it... Lots of pieces laying around I'm sure there's something else laying around. The rains have washed up several sandbars... Thought the Palmer point was a crawfish claw at first... Didn't know it was a palmer either there Grim

Always central Alabama

Nice point finds. Did you get a sit on top type or the sit in type? Sit on top usually wont flip over but you cant stay dry in one of them.

Its a sit in.. Gonna buy a better sit on for my little girl

Nice finds! I find rocks with holes in them all the time by me. I've saved a bunch as well. Is the other pic of a scraper or knife?

Thank you... Found it within the first ten minutes... Gonna try it a few more times before the snakes get to bad, there was several downed trees n the creek looked super snakey but never seen any. I've never kayaked much and I ended up in some place's I didn't want to be

Nice point and I love the rocks with character - my granddaughters like those the best! I used to kayak too. 17 1/2 ft. Sea kayak...definitely ended up some places I didn't want to go...it gets better :)

Whatever you do if your in a place that has current and there is a downed tree make sure you can get a fast running start and actually hit it hard and jump your yak over the tree cause if your yak gets stuck on it and turns sideways you have about 2 seconds before you flip. The water will grab it and turn you upside down just that fast. If its a big pile up of trees try to go around it cause if it sucks you under that will be the last thing you will ever see life vest or not. I have dragged my yak around those tree dumps many times from experience on the flipping. Lucky for me I havent hit my head yet.
