Crazy River.

your picture of your sluice box in the River ...................it looks like you have the tailend of your sluice to low in the water. I always used to keep it from being underwater to prevent losing and water action in the riffles from being underwater . Anyway that's what I was told years back ! BUT it makes sense to me !

I know it looks like that but its the turbulence in front of my Sluice I was running it a little fast but surprised how many little speck's the Dream mat caught.

Do you mean you're finding 6-10 colors per pan, or total of the two buckets? What size are these colors? 10 mesh? 50 mesh?

Hit up one of those big boulders, and dig an area, as wide as the boulder base, directly behind it in line with the water flow. I would work it back to as much as 6 ft. from the boulder.

Then, I would find a way to roll or move a manageable sized boulder and then dig out everything it was sitting on.

BTW, anybody still working the E. Fork of the San Gabriel?
Yes, I was up there last week. If you go do it on a week day. I heard they were busy writing tickets on the weekend.

Update lol. Well I went sluicing yesterday and found a nice big curve in the River and hit the inside bank and ran only 2 3/4 buckets after running my con's 20 colors in the pan lol I have been looking a long time for this spot on my claim. I am very excited and looking forward to running my 50" Dream mat Sluice where I can shovel right from the bank into the Sluice. ⛏️ 💰
