Couple of questions, this is very cool

I am new to this hobby, but not new to forums and people that can't resist being jerks, I have zero tolerance for it, I did read the new members thread, and reread it, maybe I MISSED something. Apparently you have never been new to this hobby and new EVERYTHING right from the get go.

I don think Iamrussell was being rude at all. There is a reason the "Beginners Thread" is there. There are alot of good people on here that are extremely knowledgeable and will go out of thier way to help.

But you seriously need to Know what coins are,

As easy as it is Asking questions on here. Its JUST that easy to Google "American Coins" I mean you go out and Buy a Roll of Half Dollars...Then ask " Whats the ones with the Eagles"...Well, if you look at the back of your coins you just picked up, you will see that is what they are.

I have been guilty of asking Questions on here that has been answered Over and Over and Over....But I dont bite back at the people that are trying to help.

Here is a good start.

Coins of the United States dollar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What exactly is that you found?

?????
Anyone who read the begginers guide would know what he found- when I first joined this community I read almost over a yrs past posts and the begginers guide and googled crh and did research for about a month before posting- I wasnt being a jerk or rude(maybe it came off that way and im sorry if it did) but the questions you were/are asking is clearly defined in the begginers guide and also been asked by several people in the last couple months

x What do you do with the coins that aren't valuable? I mean if I were to buy 100 bucks worth of halves and not find anything good, I really don't want 100 dollars worth of halves and whatever else I get to just sit around, rather put it in my bank account if I could

This is one example of a question thats answered in beginners thread- dumping-

All right I'm done here

It is not unreasonable to expect a new CRHer to at least know (or find out on his/her own) what coins are silver and what they look like. Its all very easily found information on the web.

If you'll just show a little initiative, there are some members here that will go out of their way to help you. They will not do all the work for you though.

O.k. guys here's the deal. I couldn't tell what the coins that were eagle side up were, or why they were rare. Maybe an "S" mint? I know the years of the 40 percent silver, and 90 percent silver, looking for coins dated pre 1971. I have done research. I just couldn't tell what the deal was with those coins and still don't know. All someone would have to do is say oh hey man those are silver but it's hard to tell in the picture, or maybe its not hard to tell, either way I have done general research, but am not an expert. All I know is I am looking for coins pre 71, and coins with the "S" mint mark, from what I looked at that was the main things to look for, other than really old ones with different dudes on the coin. If you knew me.....even a tiny little bit you would know I am one of the most driven, determined sob's you'll ever meet, and when I start something I go head first, if that means asking a question I am EXPECTED to know the answer to, so be it. The reason I got hot right away is to show I don't put up with being talked down to, is it that hard to just answer the question?

Hey Man...Sorry If came of being a smart ass or something...I know you said you are familiar with forums...and the biggest problem is that you can type out a statement, sentence, whateves...and you can read it in so many different ways...Some might seem like they are being dicks, or being funny...its hard to judge someones tone on emails and posts.

But that being said, Sorry If you took me the wrong way.

And dont let people like me get under your skin....Or that trouble maker Iamrussell :laughing7: :occasion14:

I couldn't tell you "exactly" what they were either. I think Omega was trying to illustrate to you that after going through $8k in coins those were all the keepers he found. It takes a lot of time and effort to build up your stack. The best way to learn is to dive in and just do it. Good luck and happy hunting.

Well for crying out loud I thought everyone knew exactly what they were and were telling me I didn't know enough because I couldn't tell. I did dive in. Just went through 110 dollars worth.

Why did ya edit ..... all your comments?
Just curious?

is it that hard to just answer the question?

Stay long enough in here and youll see the same "newbie"question asked over and over and over and over and over and over all with in the same couple days- gets kinda frustrating when you have 10 posts all with the Same question all with answers and the next newbie doesnt take the time to read through them
Hope you can see where I was coming from as far as saying I didnt think you had read all the way or thoroughly through the beginners post-
No hard feeling and hope ya enjoy the hobby- and dont have as bad as area as I do

Here's the thing. Like I mentioned I am not new to forums, and am a respected member of several forums that have to do with my other hobbies, I am considered the "expert" so to say. The same questions being asked is not unique to this forum, happens all over. When I see someone post a question that gets asked daily, I either answer them the best I can, or simply don't respond, the one thing I don't do is chastise them for not doing enough research before asking a question, there is no need for it, wouldn't it just be easier to not say anything at all?
