First one is a regular flat button--pre-CW.  1820-40ish, unless you can read the backmark (which would give us more to work with on dating it).

Second one is from the Iowa Soldiers' Home (VN55)  c.1850-65 If I'm reading the backmark correctly.

Third one, I have no idea--and could be a blazer button.

Agreed the 3rd one looks to be a modern blazer button.

Some aluminum jelly would help brighten up the second one.

Take a look at my post on "Cleaning Buttons" in the Cleaning and Preservation section of the forum for more information. :)

Looks like it brightened that gilding right up. Now the next time you even see a HINT of gilding on a button, use the jelly rather than toothbrushing it. When you toothbrush gilded buttons to clean them, some of the gilding is likely to come off. The jelly and gently swirling with a toothpick as mentioned in my post on buttons keeps that gilding intact. Takes much more time--but well worth the extra effort.

Best Wishes,

Buckleboy
