I went back to the site where I found the 1796 Draped Bust and found another large cent (1822) and some buttons. The property owner is more interested in knowing the age of the stuff I find than keeping it so I told him I would get back to him with an idea on the age of the buttons. A couple are plain flat tombacs but is there any way of putting a date range on them? Another is very small with a rounded front and some type of design which I can'y make out. The back is convex with an intact shank. Maybe it's too small for a button? The other appears to have nothing on the front, but the back reads TREBLE GILT STAND'D COLOUR. Odd spelling on that. Hoping that can narrow down the date range.
The large cent is a little rough, but easily readable date of 1822. I also included a little better picture of the 1796 from the other day. They were about 25' apart.
