Today I visited my favorite colonial woods. I dug a counter stamped king George the 111. Coronet large copper, presidential seal button, brass sticker plate , a finial, and some sort of knob. Met some fellow diggers by chance. Nice guys. Thanks for looking.

Tony that's a very nice counterstamp! Have you looked on exonumia to try to id it?

Doesn't have the head style of George III, maybe George IV or a contemporary counterfeit. That large cent must have been like new when it was lost. Nice finds.
 

I started messing around with electrolysis. Here is the presidential seal button. WOW. It was an awful mess when it came out of the ground..

Sorry for ugly fingers...Don in Brewster you got it..I cleaned it just a bit more and got a 1807. I didn't know that date was under the head. Thought it would be under the line in the back.
