Thanks every one for your comments and views on this button , thanks to Bigcypresshunter as I did more google'ling

on the German side and came up with the conclusion that W.H. -Wien- supplied military buttons ,ect and it is thaught

that this button was a bulk button with out Regimental no's , to be use as a replacement until a the proper replacement was

used , hense the olive green that is still visable on that back mark . Now I have to find out what reg's were using this and

the time line is about 1870 -1900 there abouts. :read2: :read2: :read2: :icon_scratch:

Yes they made German military badges etc. So it appears that this could be a military button. Would be great to see your links.

Is it W.H. (Walter & Henlein) Wien or W.H. (Wilhelm Hobacher) Wien or something else? A better pic may help.

Answere to BCH is yes bud ,its Walter and Henlein. Glad to put this puppy almost to bed , then its back to the FUR TRADE for

MY Screw up BCH , its Wilhelm Hobacher Co. I got stuck on Walter and Henlien for some reason :icon_scratch: Both Firms

history's Are going to be interesting and will let you know what I can find out :read2:

The crown buttons I posted are 7 pointed and yours is 5 pointed. But its the same style crown and with the WEIN backmark its got to be a German button.
