Hey guys. I could really use your expertise here. I dug this copper from the field where I got the 1753 and 1737 coppers. This one is thick in spots, and thin in other spots. After a round of electrolysis, I see "16" on it, but on the left side rather than the right or bottom. There are no other numbers after the 16. I thought, maybe it's "91", but the 1 is pretty clear and the correct positioning makes it "16". I can't make out anything else. It's maybe a little bigger than a quarter. The 1737 was at about 6-7", and this one was an easy 8"+. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

You know what really hurts? An 80 yr. old woman comes out to my body shop. She's using a walker. I'm helping her get her stuff out of her Buick that was just totaled out by the Ins. co. She's out there taking pics with her new smart phone! I'm thinking, am I the only one on this planet that don't know how to use one of these things!
You're not alone. Call me strange but.. I use my phone to make phone calls, my computer to surf the web and my camera to take pictures....

At the widest point of the mystery coin it is just a hair shy of the diameter of the posted coronation medallion, but the rim is also missing. I have no idea how it got to the horrible condition it is in, considering 1700's coins are coming out looking better. I am also able to see an 'N' which lines up with the 'N' in coronation.

Hopefully you can get it to tell you what it is. Does kinda look like the medallion. GL

Try using the hydrogen peroxide method. I have saved alot of copper I thought was junk.
