I found this in the edge of a yard that has been occupied since the 1850's. It appears to be made of brass, is threaded on the inside with porcelain in the end. On the outside is the green glass stone and the stem coming out is not sharp on the end. It is 1.5 inches long. The wife thinks it may have came from a perfume bottle. Any idea's...d2

My guess is old fuse or television bulb, or some other electrical component.

I'm inclined to think it's electrical as well. The old style dropper type bottles used a glass rod, not metal. Neat find though.

IMHO Victorian age perfume stopper. (Mom collected perfume) But, I don't know old electrical bling. :)

I think that the glass applicators in my pics are either for perfume or to administer nose drops. The small bottle is a Cutex bottle that I guess held fingernail polish, the other bottle is unmarked, I think it held perfume.
