I bought these from an estate sale today. I figure that even if they are all fakes which is no doubt the case..... they still look very cool to me. The information that I was able to find was that they either came from British Columbia or Virginia. Thoughts?
P.S. The most frustrating thing of all about this is that I have speant three hours (no exaggeration) trying to post these photos! They were in a jpeg format but for some reason this site suddenly will not recognize my photos and says that they need to be in a jpeg format! grrrrr. I had to convert them to a gif format which dulls them substantially and now the pics are not to clear.

For fifty measly bucks? Hells to the capital Yea!!! Hahah. It was the buy of the century as far as i am concerned :D Thanks again Molly. By the way..... fake or not.... do you know what that center point is? That is way off of my familiarity radar haha.

Updated pics. Maybe a little more clear

I hope that these are a tad better than the others.

If you have an Overstreet guide, check out the Hardin blades in the eastern seaboard area, it looks a lot like the one they have pictured in the 9th guide page 197...

I do have one and will do just that when I get home. Thanks for the tip. :icon_thumleft:

Well I think Charlie's the real deal. I'm very interested in that piece that y'all call a fishhook. I've heard that was one of the biggest fakes ever, but I have seen them found in the field. If I made that, I would use it as sort of a draw knife to smooth out shafts. I think they're legit artifacts and had nothin to do with fishin. Perhaps somebody could examine one and see what the wear patterns are.

Hadn't even thought of that RGINN, I may have to revise my thinking and go back and look at them again...great tip

In 1968 in SE Oklahoma I was hunting arrowheads in One Creek Valley with Frank James. (Really his name.) We were 14 years old. He picked one of these 'Indian fish hooks' up from One Creek. This was an area occupied by the Caddo and supposedly the Commanche. We called it a fish hook then, but there were way more efficient ways to take fish in those days. So I actually saw one taken from the field, and I just believe there was another use for them that didn't relate to fishing. I guess make one and see what you can do with it.
