Found this a few years ago in a spot in New Kent Co, VA where I hunted a friends property. My first signal I dug was a dropped 3 ringer. ended up finding this also and a few other items. It was only missing 1 diamond when found but since, most have fallen out. (I still have them) I knew it was about the size of a 3rd Army Corp badge but wasn't really sure. Does anyone know if a sutler might have made or sold fancy corp badges to troops or officers? Or maybe this is just junk costume jewelry.

Howdy RvaDiggin!

I can see how it looks like a 3rd badge, with the lined border especially.... But just as a guess I think that, taking the diamonds into account, it will end up being a piece of jewelry.

Maybe not though! I've seen similar badges listed for women service members in other countries before, so anything's possible.

Great find, whatever it turns out to be!

It seems to be like a gold plated zinc or pewter I reckon. Also it's around 1 1/2in tall
