cost for dollars

It all depends on condition... a MS65 morgan dollar from 1885 is worth way more than a G4 morgan dollar from 1885. Be more specific.

I wouldn't pay more than a couple bucks over melt for culls. That's hard to find at this very moment, but I used to be able to get them for dang near melt at one time. Wait for a good deal.

Not so long ago APMEX would buy common years in fair grades for the high 20's, so I think they definitely carry a premium over other 90% coins. I was recently offering to buy them for 25. Haven't made any offers lately, but will reconsider my price in light of the silver drop.

With silver so low what is average cost to buy peace and Morgan's. I see peace on eBay for 30$ is this common for a coin that is worth only 20 in melt?

People on eBay almost always pay over spot for any silver coin.

I would pay $4-5 over spot AT MOST for them.

@buff just common dates and Avg. Conditions.c

The cheapest i've seen in average "worn but decent" condition has been $28, too much of a premium for today's spot price IMO.

I personally would not pay over $20 ea. for nice examples. I personally would probably be waiting forever at my buy price.

I was wondering when a thread like this would pop up.

People on here get so hung up on "silver value" that the numismatic value often gets "lost".

This is the kind of info I am looking for. I know that melt for a peace dollar is around 20 does the coin really hold a 30$ numis value? Should I be able to buy them for 25?

Why dont you take a look on ebay at what common date (1923, 1924) Peace Dollars in VF/XF are selling for. Looks like $30 is it.

I would bet you could find "culls" at a coin show for $25 but they will be damaged, thus ruining most of their numismatic value.

I seen the ones an eBay for 30 and was wondering if that is the avg price. Sometimes ebay runs high.
