Just remember that a "tax credit" is not a true subsidy. It is a "credit" against the total money being taxed by the IRS.
For instance, if you earn $100k and you get a $12k tax credit ... what does that mean? Do you get the $12k back?
No. Instead of being taxed on $100k of income, you only get taxed on $12k of income. At the most, you are looking at keeping an extra $2k in your pocket. You only get out of paying taxes on the $12k, you don't get to keep it.
Oh, and for all the folks who thought they would get "free" or low cost ... wait until you see the copays and other costs under that "free coverage" O-Blame-0 promised you.
