Subsidy Calculator | The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation

Posted in another thread earlier, but I didn't include the link to check it for yourself ...

Just remember that a "tax credit" is not a true subsidy. It is a "credit" against the total money being taxed by the IRS.

For instance, if you earn $100k and you get a $12k tax credit ... what does that mean? Do you get the $12k back?

No. Instead of being taxed on $100k of income, you only get taxed on $12k of income. At the most, you are looking at keeping an extra $2k in your pocket. You only get out of paying taxes on the $12k, you don't get to keep it.

Oh, and for all the folks who thought they would get "free" or low cost ... wait until you see the copays and other costs under that "free coverage" O-Blame-0 promised you.

More importantly, tell the folks who think they are going to be better off to go here. When they see how they are getting rooked, they may want to cut off that evil root.

put it on bevo's girlfriends facebook.

I posted to my FB page as well, but don't expect it to stay. Probably will be gone within the hour.

we will see. I'll just keep reposting.

Well, it used to be that a "tax deduction" was money you deducted from your taxable income. On the other hand a "tax credit" was actually applied against your tax bill. I have no idea what the definitions are today.

As far as I know there are no caps on co-pays, yet. As was promised.

Try it with an amount below the poverty level, the credit still goes down. Why? If you do not have income subject to income tax, there is no income to subsidize, thus no "subsidy" shown.

It only reduces the amount of money you are taxed on, it isn't the amount you are credited with, it is not a true "subsidy" as the statement implies.

That cap is nice , but at $4,145 I'd still be paying $345.50 a month for Bronze . That is when my employer drops our coverage next contract .....:BangHead:

I don't like Obama care for many reasons. I don't like how they had the house and senate and instead of focusing on the economy they spent their time on Obama care. I don't like the way insurance premiums have been creeping up since Obama Care. I don't like being forced to buy insurance by my Government. I don't like either party for the most part. Insurance companies run Florida even car insurance has gone through the roof since Obama has been in office! They must have lobbied hard for the Obama care windfall coming there way!

No, Florida voted a criminal fraudster into the governors office, or what else would you call a person that was asked by his own company to leave with 300 million dollar payoff after that company was fined 1.7 billion dollars for Medicare fraud?

My 23 year old daughter, living with me, voted for Mr O both times. She can't find a job. She flares off at me anytime I make the simplest of statements she presumes are about politics.

So, to keep peace in my house, I keep my mouth shut.

And now I get to tell here that it's time for her to sign up for Obummercare....

Now is that revenge or what :) :) :)

Sorry my friend, but she would be hearing me.......

If an adult child living with me didn't like hearing my political comments made in home I owned and are paying for they would be welcome to seek residence elsewhere.

It's a little more difficult than that. She suffered years of abuse from her mother and stepfather. Thus I choose to give her peace, as she will have to figure the facts of life out on her own. I just try to guide her on a safe and straight path....

I am all she has.

Totally understand, no offense meant. My apologies....

Irrelevant!!!

What about the neighborhood organizing FRAUDSTER at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in D.C.?

1.7 billion is less than 17% of what Bill Gates is worth. The fraudster in DC is stealing 17% of the U.S. Economy.
