This is one of those very low yield Roman Sites that we would not cover unless we had no other better choices. Now that we have covered it in about 4.5 hours of gridding we will cross it off the list. For this time of year we still have lots of fields but none are any good. So other than 1 hunted out Roman Site in reserve we will start doing a few scouting missions. Hunting blind or checking low end targeted research sites.

Cru--the brooch is pristine! Congrats on your finds. -Lisa & John

Some goodies for your efforts! still love your post...some real age to finds!!

Great hunt for a low yield site man. I like how you laid the sixpence fragment over the photo! That must be one tiny bit of silver, but still super cool. Best of luck unlocking some new sites Cru.

Wish I would have done that well today.

Those finds are awesome, congrats.

When Cru'dad found it in the field & was GPSing it, I field IDed it as a James I Sixpence, didn't guess the date, but when I checked the book I felt pretty pleased with my ID for such a tiny fragment.

Beautiful Lozenge Brooch Cru! You get so many different style brooches in UK.... A brooch i only know from pics. :icon_thumright:

Yeap, we are lucky & this really made the day. Very wet & sticky on the clay with lots of swinging, more tiring than usual. :icon_thumright:

My gosh Cru that's a beautiful brooch. Congrats on a fantastic early relic

man you just never take a break do ya? yet another amazing hunt!

Crusader, I see your posts and your pictures and, quite frankly, I have no idea how to respond to your ancient coin and relic finds.............I just cannot fathom the age or uniqueness of the items you find on a regular basis...........mind boggling...............
