And a 1850 LC,
Well my Southern boys came up for a visit again. I told them this is it!!!
No more visit for at least a year. Lol
Well we hit a place today, that produced quite well. Im only going to speak for me. But let me tell you they detected me under the table. It was there day.
We had a blast!
Iam really hoping this is a copper tobacco pipe.. there are as rare as hen teeth. Lol any help would be great. This was found way way down, right by a spring house.
This property goes back to early 1700. It is well known colonist.
In fact his name is on the Declaration of Independence!!!!!
Brand new property for me.
Also found some tombac buttons, and a really cool eagle button. Im thinking its a sportsmen button?
And found a flying eagle cent, and some silvers.
Like I said, Smittyman and Beez, did alot better then me????? Wow.
There will post when they get back.
Thanks for looking.
George
Ps, the silver cufflink and 1 meek was from the other day and the pewter mold button.

No... not a pipe...
Copper is poisonous when heated to high temps.

More like still top or the likes.
Someone here may have seen one before... not me :)

Not true. They have them out there.
There in my book. Ivor Noel Hume..
So alot of people must have died from them.
Lol

Nice digs man love that flower button:headbang:
Now that copper relic is strange. The only thing that comes to mind is a bullet casing grain measure..:icon_scratch:
Measure and put in the large part and pour in the casing from the small part..

No idea on the pipe item but those buttons are awesome!, not too shabby on all the silver too, those southern boys keep invading the north lol!!

Vino Vino Vino. Great hunt. That's a lot of silver for one hunt! Love the buttons.

Beauty hunt. And you told me it was no big deal. I hope that pipe turns out to be 1700's! Oh, and that flower button is phenomenal!!!!

a copper pipe is much more likely to be a opium pipe than tobacco pipe the gooey tar like opium was stuck to the side of the copper pipe and a candle flame was used to heat the outside of the pipe making the opium bubble and give off the fumes which was inhaled.. copper if used for tobacco would give off a very strong harsh metallic taste which would be highly unpleasant for tobacco use.. dope smokers wouldn't care as much in the search to get high../ relieve pain ..

The rippled part on top of the small pipe was put there to give it strength.A Gusset if you will making me think something with some weight was poured through it.

Could also be for pouring hot liquid into something. This is gonna be a tough one...

Cool bunch of digs George, not at all sure on the pipe. Nicely done on the silvers and the that flower button is just beautiful.

If not a pipe. Could it be a candle snuffer?

Well George, looks and sounds like a good time was had by all today! From the totals you text me I can see where you were out done by the Confederates today. I recognize a few of those finds of yours from the other day. Here is the other post I told you about - a controversial "copper tobacco pipe" that was found in Pennsylvania.

Yes Steve but that resembles a Colonial pipe..This find the big part is way to big..What the heck would they be smoking in that:laughing7:

The bowl on George's pipe does look excessively large compared to the kaolin counterparts.
