✅ SOLVED Copper stamped with printing

Found at 1800's homesite. Broken piece of thin copper or copper alloy. I can make out the word/letters "Foster" and "proved", however the piece is broken and so the whole word is not visible. My guess is that it is "Approved". Sorry, forgot to put a scale in the picture before I took it. The piece is a little larger than a quarter (25 cents).

Anybody know what this came off? Part of a container of some kind that held a product? Something else?
