✅ SOLVED Copper ID

[Westfront]

Found this very nice coin on one of the last hunts and couldn't track it down complete.
It has the appearance of a Spanish-Netherlands Taler called Albertustaler but is copper not silver. It has 2.8grams what would be roughly 1/10 of the Albertustaler. Date seems to be 1605.

Hi - take a look at the Spanish Netherlands Brabant liard of 1605. The weight of your coin seems closer to a half liard but the design looks like the liard.

I have almost no experience with 17th C. coins as these are extremely rare in my fields. Especially in that condition.

Thanks Tim! Not exactly Spanish. More Netherlands than Spanish. That time the Netherlands belonged to Spain and fought an 80 years war.

That war was most likely the reason the coin got here. Dutch marauders striked many of the towns and villages here.
