Forgot to put ?? after copper arrowhead in the title. I would like to hear your opinion.

Went to a Fur trade spot I have found a few copper arrowheads and Trade silver items before. Pulled this one from very deep under the rocks. At first thought its a piece if ramroad but it doesn't look or feel as the ones I have found before. Very crudely made copper. I know this thing is very old and thought it might be a copper arrowhead but I have never found a similar example. It has a hole in the middle as the other copper arrowheads I have found before. But this thing is much thicker than any of them. Thanks for your comments.

Got some feedback from an other site. Seems to be Copper culture socketed spear point/harpoon. Very unexpected to say the least....

I’m bumping this. Just a Texas boy who lives in japan, so no knowledge on copper culture. But I raped those early archaic central Texas sights in my adolescence. Copper culture artifacts are cool.

Looks like the ID from the other site is pretty well bang on, and what a great bonus find you got Aureus, congrats. It's one of those unexpected finds that have that wow factor when one realizes what it is and the history of it.

I've never seen a real one, but it looks like the pictures of copper points that I have seen.

Absolutely. One of my favorite finds so far. Thanks for the comment.

It sure does. I have found an almost exact match of the spear/harpoon head on Copper Culture website. No doubts about it at this point.

I'm pretty sure it is a harpoon type point and is missing its tang. Extremely rare to find, I've only found six of them in over fifty years of hunting and thousands of finds. Being copper it was probably a trade point. Really cool find!!!!

Thanks. From the information I got from a few hunters and collectors, it's actually a Copper Culture harpoon type spear. 4000-1000 B.C. Got this pic with an identical one.
