Hunted an old cleared lot in Dallas and came across this cool piece. Brass I believe. It says ,"the State Fair of Texas" and Oct 12-27 1929. It's about two inches across. I do know that was the first year that the UT/OU game was played in Dallas. But I can't find anything else on this piece. It has loops so it was attached to something. Any info would be appreciated.

Also so found something from the Cawston Ostrich Farm that was in S Pasadena, CA from the late 1800's to the 1930's. Not sure what it came off of. Any ideas?

Your ostrich piece may have come off of a handle of an ostrich feather "fan" used to cool oneself in the heat. Very nice finds, congrats, Sub 8-)

probably had a pin above it that said 'souvenir' or 'guest'

Love both items Congrats !!!!!!

That's cool! Can I ask where you were searching? My girlfriend lives off knox-hederson, there's been some recent construction there but I've never gone out to search, always scared of getting run off by someone.

I'm not sure which of the two items I like more. If the ostrich piece is indeed the handle of an ostrich fan I might go with that. Either way the State fair piece is exceptionally nice. Two great finds.

That is awesome! That is also a very important find! Wonder what it's made of ? Im going to be back to diggin this weekend ! You've got me all fired up!

If you're up early enough on a Saturday I'll go over with you, can try to work as a team or come up with a useful story to try out. If it's a bust I can be sure to have a backup area in mind (a specific park where there are lots of events is nearby as well). Cheers.

At first I thought the picture on the left was an ornate spoon or fork handle, but I see that is a complete piece. Very cool whatever it is. I also like to find dated relics like the State Fair piece. Also very cool and displayable. Way to go!

No, I believe it is brass.

Nice finds!:notworthy: Just started to PM you to see if you had been out lately. Glad I saw this. Way to go.......as usual!!
