Hi everyone! I haven't been out detecting in over a month until today. It's summer break time for us. I have been itching to get out and dig some holes. I got an invite from a good friend to hunt a standing colonial home permission today for a few hours. I was running 14khz and Reactivity 5 on the Deus staying close to the house in the nails. I got a signal next to a large tree root and dug up my very first Continental Army USA Revolutionary War Button! I actually said OMG out loud. 107663746_10217536038456437_7026181923658147691_n.jpg116548413_10217539579464960_9007168128074188415_n.jpg116102289_10217542458736940_4956286134315755586_o.jpg117058706_10217539579864970_6022180685031983709_n.jpg

OK Donnie that does it...Charging my detector now! You gave me the fever! That one has eluded my coil so far.....CONGRATS ON A KILLER FIND!

Thanks John. It was the #1 button on my bucket list. It's funny. You see a GW Eagle button posted just about every week (I have four now) but you just don't see guys finding USA buttons every week. They also don't find GW's like that script one you found which is almost unique. I would have thought you had found one of those USA buttons with the NC on it because you have just an outstanding button collection. Good luck and I hope you find one. I really liked your Tarsacci video the other day.

That is AWESOME!!!

You guys with colonial soil have it very nice!

I would say the guys 20 years ago had nice colonial soil. It's still nice but hammered! :BangHead:

Amazing piece if history good job

My friend, Grant, made a YouTube video of our Revolutionary War Buttons! . Grant made a great find himself, a 7th Regiment Continental Army button! Grant does a really great job on the videos so you might find some more that you like. If you like this video, please consider subscribing for more. This hunt was about three weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Due...nYh-Pb7qSnIQ0FWw7AQJy0WNw_iMeP7DZJaFrhvdTGiL8

I wondered the exact same thing. Did the root push the button up or keep it from going down? Either way, I'm glad I swung over that root. I always hunt right up against trees and bushes if I know I am at a spot that has been detected previously.

Silver Tree Chaser, I actually found another one about two weeks later and it was the exact same situation. The second one was dead center under a root. The first one I found was the Large Size USA button. The second one is the Small Size USA button. Sadly, the second one is in poorer condition but I don't care. It's the history that counts for me and I now have two distinct varieties. I didn't make a post for my second one (I will do that now) but here it is:118702107_10217727587885053_8763200344659289517_o.jpg118686689_10217734065606992_1207930005729532071_n.jpg
