Kirk Kyle and I got out to the colonial site that we started last week. We detected in the same bean field. Detected for a few hours and found this nice Connecticut Post Colonial Copper. 1788 bust facing left. Almost all of that variety is rare. It's my first 1788 bust left confirmed so I'm a happy boy. Thanks everyone for reading the post.

Man does that thing look thin.....I'd be afraid to clean something like that ;D Great dig,and keep us posted when you find out more on it. Congrat's and HH!!
It is thinner than most Conn coppers so I thought it was a King Geo counterfeit at first glance until Kirk and Kyle pointed out the word Auctori as I cleaned some surface dirt off out in the field.

WTG Chris, you are still on a roll, hopefully the white stuff will hold off till late winter for you. I gave the coin a look for variety and the Obverse is a 16 and the Reverse, with that seperation between the two 8's makes it a Reverse N? So it should be a Miller 16.3-N?

Don
Thanks Don, sooner or later the bubble will have to burst . I mean how long can this streak go on? I thank you for the id. The seperation between the 8s was a dead give away.

How did the other two crazy gibbons do?
Congrats big guy.

Thanks Doug, I appreciate the accolades my man. Kirk and Kyle are doing well for sure. I will leave it up to them to relate their finds. Kirk just blew me away this weekend by almost a hundred years.

Well done, Zeus.

I will have a half liter of good Beer tonight in honor of your beautiful find.

1 liter. That's all. :D It is always nice to find a Conn copper. From what I understand the history of Conn and Pa is rich. The 2 states almost went to war over the northeast corner of Pa which is around the Scranton, Wilkes Barre area. That is why so many Conn coppers are found here. Very interesting.
Thanks Buck.

Nice huntin' Chris. I hope to squeeze in as many as I can before the nasty white stuff starts flyin' ...and the ground freezes. You have found a ton of coppa's this year
Thanks Bryce, We are thinking the same thing. Last year we went all winter, snow and frozen ground also. We actually chipped with hammers and chisles. I'm not sure that we will do that this year. We will see.

The detail of the bust on the obverse looks great.

You can tell what that one is from a distance!
Thanks Plebah, It is pretty detailed compared to most coppers found in a Pa farmfield.

Derek, Are you sure it wasn't Daffy Duck that was after the gold proclaiming that he was a "Happy Miser" and that now he was "comfortably well off" and saying "Mine Mine All Mine" unless this is another episode that you were thinking of. Man it sure is nice to find all those coppers. I can thank Kyle for pointing me in the right direction and Kirk for like minded competition of detecting style. We have a blast at this hobby. You will have to get ahold of Kirk and ask him what he found on Saturday. It just blew our collective minds . I'm planning my path in the field next week as I write this. The gears are a toinin. ;D Have a good one my friend.
