Nana and I decided to take advantage of a couple of cooler days last week here in Bama so we headed out to a friends
house for some much needed digging therapy.
Our efferorts paid off with some nice keepers and great company. But the find of the day was this script 'E' button!
Special thanks to Nana and Quingy for the super fast ID of a Confederate Engeener officers button!
I'm definantly one happy camper!

Thanks for lookin'.........

If this is a house site, I'll just say that many times I have dug multiple buttons at a house site, where a coat was tossed out. I'll also say that I have never found a buckle or plate in a house site where I didn't dig at least one military button.

Cheers,

Buck
This does happen to be a house site. Most of the property in this area has had structures of sorts at one time or the other since the early to mid 1800's to now. The dirt has been moved in this particular spot so many times, that you never know what you're going to get. Could be a button...could be a pulltab. :tongue3: It's the same spot that I dug the pommel and 'I' button.

And within spitting distance of where we found the 'ACC' button.

This has been a dandy of a place to hunt. Always a good surprise. Because there were so few 'engineers' during the CW, what could the chances of digging up one of these buttons be?!
Nana :)

Nana, I knew the "E" Confederate Corps of Engineers buttons are rare but I asked Larry Hicklen, veteran Tennressee digger and owner of Middle Tennessee Civil War Relics in Murfeesboro how rare they are to dig. He replied:
"That is a seriously rare button Quindy -- that ANY Relic Hunter would be thrilled to dig !!!!!"
So, there you go. HH, Q.
