Nana and I decided to take advantage of a couple of cooler days last week here in Bama so we headed out to a friends
house for some much needed digging therapy.
Our efferorts paid off with some nice keepers and great company. But the find of the day was this script 'E' button!
Special thanks to Nana and Quingy for the super fast ID of a Confederate Engeener officers button!
I'm definantly one happy camper!

Thanks for lookin'.........

That looks like BANNER to me Lisa. Great find. Now, learn that F75 and you might find the ENGINEER next time-LOL. WTG, Q.

WTG Lisa on a RARE find! This looks like the beginning of a GREAT hunting season! Q is right, it needs to be on the BANNER! Here's one in better condition for $950.
Confederate Civil War Buttons

Way to go Lisa!!!! :occasion14: I've never seen one of those "E" buttons before, but it doesn't surprise me since you were hunting with Nana.
You two are deadly with those detectors. Congrats to you!!!

W :o W!! Now that's an eye popping find! Congratulations, Lisa!!

That is a BANNER button if I ever saw one. WOWZERS! Congrats!

That's a mighty power full confederate relic. I'm not gonna jump in the banner wagon. But still one heck of a find.

That's my diggin' buddy right there! Girl, I'm so proud! I couldn't have been happier if I had dug it myself! :) Had me doing flips when I discovered what it truly was. That place has been good to us, huh. I'll jump on that banner wagon in an instant. :notworthy:
Many congrats to ya. Can't wait to get back out there!

Ok who ever digs a script "E' ? Great I.D. Did you know that Robert E Lee after graduating West Point served with the corp of Engineers for 26 years. Those engineers worked on the fly and had tremendous jobs building Forts, Bridges and fortifications as fire rained down. Ok I got carried away. Rare and great save! I am excited for you.

Thanks so much everyone for all of your comments and interest. I think I'm still in shock. I'm speachless. This button has got me
so stoked I may just die before hunting weather gets here and we can thoroughly cover this place.

If this is a house site, I'll just say that many times I have dug multiple buttons at a house site, where a coat was tossed out. I'll also say that I have never found a buckle or plate in a house site where I didn't dig at least one military button.

Cheers,

Buck

That is a GREAT find! Super rare button to dig. That has to be a Banner find in my book.
