By the way, me and my wife personally want to thank you and other military members of this site for yor sacrafice to this country. We live next door to MCAS Cherry Point, Jet noise? Hell, its the sound of freedom!

The cuts in the belt loop I believe was done by a solider. I'm sure it is the reason it was lost. Thought I'm not sure as to why he would have made this change. It is a very nice personal civil war piece. Great find.
 

Sorry Johnny I can't it would def give away my location, maybe after I hunt for awhile I let a couple things slip!! lol People are crazy and do crazy things to find relic sites such as this, And Im not ready to share!!
Wow!!! I have never seen one come out like that. Was it lying on top of a rock that may have cut down the oxidation? The most beautiful gold color I've ever seen to come right out of the ground like that. Am glad for you.

You have a good site there. Don't tell anyone about it and keep hunting! Do you have any idea of how many troops were involved? Can you tell us if this was infantry or cavalry action?
