If you're serious about research, and you live in Kansas, or one of it's close-by neighbors, then this set should provide a lifetime of unsearched detecting sites. This is the complete 43 volume bound set as issued by the Kansas Historical Society from 1931 through 1977.
These are full of potential sites. There are day-by-day journals of expeditions indicating campsites, river crossings, etc. There are historical accounts written by Participants and Authors of history. A wealth of information on participants in the Civil War, Western Outlaws such as Wild Bill Hickock, Pioneer Letters and Journals, Native Americans, Town and County Histories, Cattle Drives, Cowboy Memoirs and much more related material. If you can't find a virgin site using this set, you just aren't trying. It's not the detector you are using, it's the detector user when it comes to the potential of this set.
The entire 43 volume set is priced at only $250, plus media mail shipping (117 lbs of material). That's slightly more than $8.00 per volume. Depending on your location, I can also meet part way if you want to pick them up. Please contact me with any questions.
