Every year the US based companies shrink, many though acquisition. Although there are always smaller company's popping up, many will get eaten alive by the big boys on the block. Others will be purchased and broken down to be sold piece by piece.

the list of bankruptcies in the past few yeas is frightening and I wonder if we'll ever see the rebirth on mom and pop stores.

Least we forget the workers that will most likely be cut because of job duplication. Maybe the only silver lining to this predicament will be clever merger names :tongue3:

I'm sure some have already gone down this path and it's no fun

Could you imagine these consolidations in the near future:

1. Hale Business Systems, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Fuller
Brush, and W. R. Grace Company will merge and become:
Hale, Mary, Fuller, Grace

2. Polygram Records, Warner Brothers, and Zesta
Crackers join forces and become: Poly, Warner, Cracker

3. 3M will merge with Goodyear and issue forth as:
MMMGood

4. Zippo Manufacturing, Audi Motors, Dofasco, and
Dakota Mining will merge and become: ZipAudiDoDa

5. FedEx is expected to join its major competitor,
UPS, and become: FedUP

6. Fairchild Electronics and Honeywell Computers
will become: Fairwell Honeychild

7. Grey Poupon and Docker Pants are expected to
become: Poupon Pants

8. Knotts Berry Farm and the National Organization
of Women will become: KnottNOW!

I wonder, if I would have added gun manufacturers to the list, I'd bet it would still be in the Everything Else forum :laughing7:

Sweet Names!!! But to true!!!

Sweet Names!!! But to true!!!

Very true indeed. Although it had a tad, mind you a tad of humor; I'm whisked away to never, Neverland :laughing7:

I guess who ever moved it, never read the whole story and just looked at the names :laughing9:

A prime example of this happened just recently with my company. Thank god we were on the buying end, otherwise I'd really be up the creek :laughing7:

We purchased another company's business, all but one of the employees were let go. Sad thing, they never knew it was going to happen. No name changes were involved, after all, I can't even come up with a clever name :tongue3:

I wish people would get used to the fact that I discuss serious matters from a comedic standpoint :laughing7:

I just happen to see things differently. Maybe it was the paint chips I ate as a kid :dontknow: :tongue3:

Hardy Fly Fishing and President Obammy's Council on gun control will now be known as "Hard-On".
