Hocking Hills was beautiful! Went to Old Man's Cave, Rock House, Conkle's Hollow, the fat woman's squeeze, Logans Lake, Rock House, A few others. We stayed at Hocking Hills camp ground. Very secluded. We were the only people there, being so early in the season.

It looks like we are going to try it again with in the next month so. "CASH PERMITTING" I REALLY appreciate everyones help. Thanks for all the great leads Excavator! If you are ever in Michigan look us up! :icon_thumright:

No ya didn't . Even so you gave a stranger enough to cover retirement years . A simple vacation trip couldn't even scratch the surface of that list .
Listing the other more than half would only intimidate the meek .

I told someone the other day.. A day trip to the Canaan Valley area (most of WV really) is like driving past a bakery. You get a whiff of fresh baked bread and then you're really hungry.

MEMORIAL MAGNET, Hocking Hills is spectacular in the fall, ahh but so is WV.

I made it to Michigan one time, arrived in the dark and left before dawn, picked up some strange looking tractors and took them to the apple groves in the eastern WV panhandle. I saw cornfields and irrigation, just by my headlights. I really appreciated those flat highways though.

My daughter-in-law is from Kalamazoo, btw. Still hasn't lost her accent. :)

HA HA ....You have such a way with the words , Senior ;D

Thanks, sometimes I do, sometimes I use too many, sometimes those bad ones, sometimes they can't get me to say a thing. ;D

I notice that you still intend to travel down our way, so I'll impose my thoughts on you. First, grab a tourism guide to lay out the places that appeal to you and the missus. Once you have laid out your list of sites to visit, go to geocaching.com and plug in the zip code for that particular neck of the woods. Browsing through that list will net you some out of the way places that (generally speaking) only the locals know about. WV is great about putting city parks in places you'd least expect them. I look at city parks as a "two-fer" kind of deal. You can detect them (some are quite old) and you can enjoy them.
