Finally. I thought I had a hammered English at first, until I saw 'ole Phil's name.

Its numismatic value is worthless, but it means the world to me! :laughing7:

Hopefully, there's a few more left for me. If I could only convince the old guy to give it a plough. :)

Happy hunting!

Awesome!, I sure hope one of those puppies makes its way under my coil someday

Someone beat the snot out of that coin but it's still Spanish silver. Congrats!

That's the hardest one to get...the first.
Was it a one find hunt ?

Congrats, nice find....

Thanks gents. :)

No Rick, I found a couple of Indian heads, and some other stuff that I left with the landowner (plated spoon, Egyptian style brooch from 20's?). I couldn't leave that one though... haha....

Here's one of the Indians. The good one... The other is bad. Very bad.

Nice catch on the silver.

Gio my man that's a great find. I feel like I'm due for some more Spanish but seeing you find one will hold me over for awhile. Hope you find more out there buddy

Wow great Silver 1/2 real, I looked it up in the standard catalog of world coins, "PHILIP. V.D.G. HISPAN. ET IND. REX. struck at Mexico city, very cool

Just took another look, pretty sure it's 1 real.

My Apologies Rick after closer inspection it is indead a 1 real, Having the "I" to the left of the sheild. it should weigh in at 3.383g where the half would have a "+" to the left of the sheild and weigh 1.691g

Ah, it is a 1 real?

The varieties I found online seemed to indicate 1/2 real. The other 1738's were Pistareens.

Thanks for the ID guys.

Congrats! Damn I love those old Spanish silvers! Very impressive bro...keep it up. There's gotta be more in there waiting for you

Great for you!!!

It's hammered alright, not the way you want though :laughing7:

Congrats on breaking the Spanish Silver drought!

Very nice, sweet Spanish silver!
