Decided to take a few picks today of me & my dads finds. He's got about 50yrs in & I've got about 30yrs in.This is not all that we've found but is a good part. All are from the coastal waters here in North Carolina.Maybe one day when I've got sometime I'll get them out a take some better shots in the sun light And get them all gethered up as well seems how they are scattered everywhere through the house.Enjoy
Take Care,
Pete,:hello:

Yes that's the general rule, not sure how true as I've found the two together on same sites but so much trading & all went on back then it could explain that part.

Ps. If you don't you should get a detector & check over the sites your finding them at,should be other goodies there as well.

Any insight on the axe head? Those are a couple flints also.

In the 1st and 2nd pics you have a large piece with two grooves around it. What is it, and is this one

It's a double groove axe,I'm not sure what you have there it's interresting looking. The grooves on your piece don't look to go all the way around do they?Getting ready to call it a night myself.ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz

Looks late 1800's to early 1900's to me.I've found quite a few just like that one for style.I prefer the colonial era myself & is what I try to concentrate on.Should be some older stuff around being your finding flints.

collection

Yessssssssss! these are top notch collections. I love to see photos of collections like this.
