Hello All,

Got out a bit after the tropical storm passed us by. Got a couple nice goodies. I started off the day by digging a nice 1820s era Pewter U.S. button! After that, Shanegalang got a couple good finds, including a complete Colonial-Era jew's harp! I have most of one, but have never dug a complete jew's harp. So that was a killer find for him. Even better that it wasn't destroyed or bent by the plow. Shanegalang also got a third Shield nickel in two hunts. He's on fire for nickel. Now we need a couple nice picayunes to break the drought on Spanish silver we've been in recently. I think it'll happen, but we won't fully know the status of our best fields till harvest later on in the month.

Enjoy the video and photos.

I was pleased with this funky, homemade 3-hole button.

And of course the pewter U.S. militia button (my fourth of this type dug).

And here are photos of our combined finds.

Best Wishes for a great fall window everyone. Will be great to see TNet light up with some stellar finds this fall.

That US pewter is in great shape! You've been taking some heat for not finding any Spanish lately. You better get back out there. Laughing. Congrats on a great hunt

Not this time. We're trying though! I was pleased with the military button. Not seeing too many of those dug.

Awesome....... as usual. :hello:

That US pewter is in mighty fine shape. Especially if it came out of one of your cane fields.

Cool button! I like the variety of pottery coming out of your fields+you get a lot more pipe stems than we get here.

Can't believe you don't come across more jews harps... I have as many as you have spanish...lol...Love that US pewter!!
Great recoveries fellas!

Hey Buck!! Really Neat Finds!! CONGRATS!! GOOD HUNTING!! VERDE!!

Great finds! Watched the video! Shangalang still swinging the F75?

Nice finds Bucks! You found a complete Jew's Harp too!

Love the button!

Shane could use a music pro to help with his Jews harp rendition-LOL. Enjoyed the video. I dug one of thew Jews Harps that same size in a CW camp. Send that US pewter on up to Tennessee. WTG dudes, Q.

That button more than makes up for the lack of silver in my book! Sweet condition too!

Westfront, we need to sit down and count the clay pipe stems some day. My guess is we have 1000 or more! Look at the bowl piece in the picture in this post. It was very decorative.

Hey buddy! That hunt i used the F 75, Cortes and Cibola. I keep switching up just to get different results. I am getting happier with the 75 and odds are i will eventually fall completely in love with it, but for now we are just dating :)

Hi Mr. Q, heck i would have thought that was a farmers cotter pin had i not been educated on that relic from my good relic teacher BB. I knew what it was when i saw it :) Now i want to learn to play one lol

Very nice button...great shape for pewter... Jews harp is on my list..never even found a piece yet.

Will,
I'll make this quick as I'm watching "Dig Fellas" right now and they are detecting in Louisiana. I want to make sure they aren't hitting your spot. You should be able to hear them if they are. "HEY HOWARD!!!" :laughing7:
Congrats on that great pewter US button and the Jew's Harp. Shangalang was jamming with that thing! :headbang: You guys are always uncovering the coolest finds. I got a kick out of that musketball in the mud showing you who's boss.
Thanks for the video,
Doug
