Got out with Rick today and headed back to the field I got my killer buckle at. the finds were again thin but good quality. What was funny was Rick dug a Blowhole button then I dug a French Marine button then he dug a french marine button then I dug a blowhole button. So we both ended up with 2 top quality colonial buttons within 10 min. But Rick didn't stop there and dug up a couple of great coppers as well.

The big shiny object is a livestock bell made from the same material as a Tombac button.

Thanks Dave, I really think that the honey hole here lies in one of the adjacent fields which haven't been mowed or plowed in years. I might go back in the spring after the snow flattens out most of the tall grass and give it a go.
