Years ago I came upon a pioneer/colonial camp in Middle Tn. Found these pewter buttons and coins. 1766, 1780, 1781, 1805, and an unknown dated "pieces of eight."

Just out of curiosity, and not to be morbid, but how big of a “site” did these come from?

Found in a field next to a spring. The field has been farmed for many years, so we were finding things across maybe 100-150 ft? The surrounding hills were covered in Civil War camps as well.
