Battled temps around 30 and 2" of frozen ground this afternoon. No wind though so it wasnt that bad and i was able to put in around 3 hours. I used my Tesoro Cibola this time and found that it really likes big iron but was still able to get one IHP, an old bullet, some buttons and yes two more seated dimes. An 1877 with good detail and an 1854 O. This makes 11 seated dimes now since January

Nicely done. What type of site was it? Old homestead, plowed field etc?

Its been a plowed field for a long long time but as early as 1871 if not earlier, it was a fairgrounds

Nice finds. Whats the otherside of the 77 look like. I noticed you didnt flip it.

very nice finds

That's an incredible site you're on!, 13 seated is freakin awesome!!!!

I hope it keeps up for ya!

Nice digs toasted. :occasion14: You have pulling many quality coins in the past few months. I know of a field where a fair was held one or two years before moving to another location (1855-56). I wonder how many coins may be in the field? The property has since been divided into 3 parcels.

Man that 77 is a beauty :occasion14:

The fairgrounds was moved from here around the turn of the century. That location is now subdivided into many homesites. I have heard stories of handfuls of silver coming from there when road and homes went in there. I may one day do some door knocking over there

Ok I'll be right over, let's figure out how many may be in that field lol!

Thanks. Funny thing is, this is only the second seated that has come from outside the "hot zone". The other was a really nice 1877 quarter

Pretty incredible. Congrats.

Too cold for me today...about 15 degrees outside, but those are awesome finds for such a cold day! Congrats!

Congratualtions on the cool finds!

excellent finds!

I've done my share of looking in lil less than perfect conditions. I just don't want to fight it today.
Also, a bit afraid I'm going to pull my knife out of the ground and that 1916-d dime will be stuck on the end of it. ;)

Too tough digging for me! :)
