Cold Streak Broken: VIRGINIA STAFF MUFFIN BUTTON, Best Gilted Eagle "A" & more!

Hey Guys. I've been on a cold streak these last couple weeks and haven't posted anything as I hadn't dug anything

really worth posting, meanwhile, Jeff had been tearing it up with the Cob, Posie Ring and Shilling ...so I

definitely had a HUGE MONKEY on my back :munky2: :-\ ;D But yesterday I finally got a really nice

find with this 3 piece Virginia Staff!!!

At first I thought it might be a Yankee State button but when I brushed it lightly and saw that banner with "Sic

Semper Tyrannis"
I knew instantly that it was a Confederate Staff Button. Man, did it definitely take that monkey

off my back! :munky2::whip2:

ALSO... found a BEAUTY of an Eagle "A" yesterday that after cleaning looks like it has about 99% of

the gilt still remaining. I dug this button after we left and went to another spot.. dug at same place I found that pretty Eagle A at last month. I figured there was a few more signals hiding in there and this was one of them!

Here's the Pics:

OMG that is the finest looking eagle A I have ever seen dug in my entire relic hunting life. I think you need to change your name josh to button man or something cause damn if you aint on fire!! :hello2: :hello2:

Matt that IS the best gilted button that I've EVER dug.....I didn't have my camera with me when I dug it or I'd have shown how DIRTY it was when i pulled it out of the hole...I had dug another Eagle A there about a month ago that came out really pretty with alot of gilt....but NOTHING like this one....to boot it was about 12-14 inches deep while the Virginia Staff was only about 5-6 inches :icon_thumleft:  Good to hear from you.....Shoot me a PM when you get a chance

I can relate to the monkey on your back syndrome. I had a 500 lb Silverback gorilla firmly latched to my back. If it wasn't for the years of power lifting I don't think I could have carried it around. With the Liberty Cap Thicky I found that finally fixed that problem. You can say that you had similar results this week. Congrats Josh.
Chris

Thanks Chris, yeah that Liberty Cap is awesome...you ruffed up the monkey in SHORT ORDER buddy :laughing9:  :D Good luck tomorrow my friend :icon_thumleft:!

I still can't believe how sweet that VA button is ::) And then I dig a muffin button yesterday thinking I had the same :-\ :D

What a cluster of artifacts. Those two military buttons look terrific. You did quite well in the recovery. You said the one button was 12-14 inches down...did you have to use a probe to better locate it?

Now that's a sweet hunt, congrat's on the buttons. :headbang: :headbang:

Man oh man, that is one AMAZING Eagle "A"!!! I have one in my collection that is 80% gilding, but that one you dug just smacks me speechless. The VA staff is a great find (a find I've always wanted to get my coil over).

Nice work

Keep us posted on the lockplate if you see any markings.

Josh, I have a question. What # is the VA Staff in Albert's Button Book? That's a KEEPER. Thanks, Quindy.
