I have this 8 oz, glass, coke bottle that appears to be vintage. The problem is that it has a expiration date from 2008 on it. I did research on 8 oz glass coke bottles from 2008, and could not find this kind. Can you can return used bottles to the manufacturer, and they refill them, or is this new.

P.S. On the bottle it says, "Orlando CA", and under the logo on one side it says, "World of Coca Cola, And under the logo on the other side it says "8 ounces".

Thanks

The Coca Cola company recently 're-introduced' its classic bottle design. They can be recycled. Probably worth the $.03-.05 you'd get for it.

allot of older Coke bottles say where they were manufactured for on the bottoms.

The location is just that. where it was originally filled & shipped out from.

Years ago bottles were refilled, But not necessarily refilled from where the bottle originally came from.
7UP was the first I'm aware of to stop re using bottles, I'm not sure if coke refills or not.

Years ago we used to pick bottles up along the road, take them to the store & get
5 Cents each. The delivery man would reimburse the store & take the bottles back for refilling.

all of a sudden the Health Nazis said "no More" I guess :dontknow:

now they need to be melted down & remade.

the fact it has an expiration date tells me it's a non refillable bottle & 21st Century.
I'm not sure how long soda stays fresh.
Probably 6 months.

But like Cans, it is possible they have a return value in certain states

I don't know, Someone who does will need to tone in.

But my Un-edu-ma-cated guess is because it says "World of Coca Cola" it's probably a commemorative
or made for a particular plant.

Is there a "World of Coca Cola" place ?

I'll have to google

Hey coinman,

There are the words "No Refill" on the heel. This is made as a "collectible" bottle. It is a NDNR bottle, of extremely recent manufacture, and may have some collector value in 50, or 100 years, but not at the present time. Sorry.
