I?ve hunted for about 16 hours over the past 8 days, have found about 75 keepers on some primo fields in perfect conditions, several beautiful days out there. I figured I?d better post a few finds as much as I have been talking about it. Here?s a little coin weight, not sure for what coin. It has 4 fleur de lis on it, maybe 6, they resemble small crosses here but a fluer de lis is actually a flower mostly used by French occupation on coinage found throughout Europe. As history tells us, the French were a mighty world power at one time. I checked my German coat of arms book and couldn?t find an arms like this, any help would be appreciated. Here?s the coin weight, I have four now.

One of the oldest coin finds this week as far as I can tell, I have a few old looking coppers too!? A small 1647 silver, not sure if it is a hammered coin. Around 1580ish, the Germans invented the coin mill, not sure how wide spread the mill went in the early years as Germany as we know it today is maybe 125ish years old. This is the obverse, it is broken but I still treasure the historical find.

The reverse of the 1647, surprisingly, the date is probably the best preserved feature of the coin. I?ll try to post more finds later. Not much time as hunting season is open, LOL! HH, Mike
