Hi folks, first time posting here, just had to share my finds from yesterday. Headed out to an old cellar hole ( far and few behind up here in Canada) and started to swing away.
Nothing inside so i moved to the side, about 3 feet from the path i registered a nice repeatable copper signal. Carefully dug down about 6 inches , and out came a small piece of leather with a small "O" ring on it.
Hmm, went to stand up and thought, ahhhh, better sweep again, and "bang" huge silver sound came through the head phones. Starting to shake i carfully removed a bit more dirt from the hole, and there standing on edge, a 1838 US half.
These are very, very rare to find up here so needless to say i was pumped. I stood up and started to move away , when a little voice says " hey fool , scan the area around the hole",, no way,, but i did ( yep twice i almost didnt re-scan) and the machine started going nuts. In an area roughly 16 inches wide i pulled out 6 halves dating from 1822 to 1844 and 1 province of canada half penny token.
Needless to say, my best find ever, i think i sat in the bush shaking for about half an hour before i could trust my legs to get me back to othe car :tongue3: Enjoy the pics, first few are uncleaned, next few are after a light soaking in warm water.

Yeah, we find them everyday here in the States....NOT! DUDE, THAT IS AMAZING!!!! THAT IS THE FIND OF A LIFETIME!!!! Nice way to start posting too! Welcome to the forum!

I would change your topic title to something like CAPPED BUST COIN PURSE SPILL!

BANNER FOR SURE!!! :hello2:

Welcome to Tnet CDNHappyhunter :hello2:

That's one awesome coin spill and those halves are in great condition :icon_sunny:

My Banner vote in as well :headbang:

Kudos on all of that silver you recovered, especially that US coin that looks to be in excellent condition. Welcome to TN, I look forward to more of your postings. HH

Great coins  I don't think they will put your find on the banner due to the fact that this is your first post here but they are definately banner worthy. In case you didn't know, the banner is the row of pictures at the top of the page. Whenever someone makes a really great or unique find like yours they put it up there. They have certain rules and criteria that they go by and unfortunately there is a minimum number of posts before your finds can be eligble.

But as many members have already voted banner (as did I) whether your finds make it up there or not this is a great post. Congrats and welcome to Tnet, you are going to love this site.

HH Charlie

Like I said to you on the other forum, a once in a lifetime find. Not only are capped bust silvers hard to find, but the ones you found are in great shape. A gentle rinse under the tap is all they need. And yes, this is a no brainer.............banner!.

Wow! Whoever lost those was in some serious trouble back in the day. Excellent dig

That would be like losing a full weeks paycheck! Maybe some foul play?

I think you need to return them to the usa so I will pm you my address to return them :D. Great find I would love to find one of them. Cant wait to see what comes from there next. HH!!

I can't take my eyes off of those coins. Welcome to TNET! You have my vote for the banner.

Now that's what I call a coin purse spill. Good work!

Now you know why our economy is in such bad shape. We sent all our money to Canada!..Very nice silver, no very amazing silver! Welcome to Tnet. Monty

Sweet Jesus.
