Coin of a life time

I found my coin of a life time today

When out this morning with Cheffer and Secondstar, this was a spot the mike had found and up till today 8 large coppers have come out of the ground, most of them deep. We thought there might be more but we were unsure so went back today just to make sure, mike found 2 more coppers.
As I was swinging the O.R.X. I got a good signal around an 88 and this popped out of the ground. I did not know what it was so called Mike and Steve over to take a look.
Needless to say they could not believe it. Steve and Mike looked at me and said” do you know what you just found” ITS A COB 1689 from we believe from Lima Peru

Great find Joe! To give everyone some background, this was found at a tavern site that we have been working. The tavern was registered in 1755, and was gone by 1800. We’ve found a total of 10 coppers here, and then Joe smacked it out of the park with this one!

When you said "I got my first reale" I was very happy for you! Then when I walked over and saw it I'm like Oh lord. Unbelievable find, happy that I was there to see it, never actually held one. Steve, I took one look at Joe's coin and knew right away that you would know what it was. At first glance I thought cut reale, but it was just too misshapen. Then I thought cob, but not too many guys find them so far inland. I'm glad that you and I were there to witness Joe's find of a lifetime.
