Found this flattened coin? awhile back. How they did this evenly or why is a mystery. Only about two or three letters are visible as you can see. Am thinking from this location in Colorado that is Spanish, English or what. It is silver and very thin now. Have spent time looking on the net to no avail so far.
Anyone interested in foreign coins may have some info. Thanks in advance.

Nice find Pete.
My first guess would be a one Reale, but then again I'm no numismatist. :laughing7:

You will get the best view of the remaining design detail if you shine a strong light across it as a very low angle. I cant make out enough details to make a guess at what it was.

The hole in the middle means that it was probably used as bangle, concho or other decoration.

Looks like a train track coin?

I second the railroad track coin.

I agree that it was most likely flatten by a train, when we were kids we would put pennies on the train tracks when we knew a train was coming, the weight of the train would flatten them out just like the one you have, which coin it is I don't know.

I agree it is probably a RR track coin. Still trying to figure what it was. Thanks guys.

Flattened by train, and modified for the overall shape.
It likely is a half reale, as silver would squirt out,
under all that tremendous pressure...!

Pistol-Pete, I'm wondering if it has a reeded edge??

I finally thought about weighing it. It’ 4.95 grams. So without the hole about 5g. Seems a 1 reale is 3.35g and 2 reale a bit over 6g. So think someone filed it a bit to make it concentric. The letters I make, ND dot R fit perfectly. What do you all think on that?

Tried to bring the letters out better..not much luck.

What I can make out is either an "O" or a "D",
with a dot between it and the R.

Yeah, the more I look at it, the more it looks like "D . R" which does look like a perfect fit for a Reale. I would still like to see a low-angle light pic. Many times that will pop up detail that invisible from a top illumination.
