coil size

If I put a 5" coil on a machine that came with a 11" coil ...is that going to change depth gauge?
My buddy says no ...I say yes?

Try this. Put on your largest coil and go outside and perform a manual ground balance, take note of those numbers. Now put on your smallest coil and repeat the process over the exact same spot of ground, take note of those numbers. Were those numbers the same with each coil? And if not, ask yourself, why?
