Really, I wouldn't paint it. It has character the way it is. Like an old soldier full of scars. If it could only talk and tell you where it's been. <sigh>

I agree with everyone, do not paint it.
You mentioned an old stove. Some types of old stoves are valuable. If It's still available I would get it.

dont worry im not gonna paint it :) just add some more car wax to make the paint shiney again. also use soem fine steel wool on the rust and i taped up some rust holes on the bottom. right now its in my basement not sure what ill do with it yet. someone already took the stove but i know it was definetly worth over 500 bucks. my dad would have let me take something that big even if it was worth 1,00 dollars and i had the price guide in front of him :-\ hes a wicked neat freak and cant stand clutter so he hates when i bring home a bunch of junk :-\

Jake, i won one like it in 1960 at a school dance. but i remember the same type in the late 50's.

I was at an estate auction a few days ago, and they had one almost like it, except it was Pepsi. It ended up going for $150, which is simply amazing considering how cheap some other things went. Good eye picking that up!
