Hey I'm new to this site and I don't know much abt silver and stuff but I am interested to learn more, But anyway yesterday I found this clump which to me appears silver it weighs a little over a half a pound maybe 10 ounces it has a hole drilled in the bottom so idk.

I did some quick tests at home besides the acid test, but its not magnetic and I heard if you put ice on it that it will melt right away which it did so I'm still not sure I might purchase the test kit or maybe bring it in to get it tested just thought I'd share on here and get more opinions on what I have

I will attach some pics so u can see.. 038.JPG039.JPG040.JPG
Also on the bottom where it has the bigger edge it turned a little black when I put bleach on it, however the smaller edge was black before I found it.

Could. Silver did it come out looking like that?

It could be sterling that was melted down and forgot about or lost

Yep, have it tested. Thats the only way to know. Frankly, it looks way too big to only weigh 10 oz. It looks WAY bigger than any 10oz silver bar I have.
