So it's a good find? Do u think u can maybe help identify it? Also, did u c the pics I posted of the small one I found in the same area? It looks super old and I'm not 100% what it's called either...maybe u can help wth that one as well..? .I'll post a pic just in case u have not seen it yet
I’ll be upfront. I’m probably one of the least knowledgeable people that post in the NA forum. I stick around in order to learn from other people that are willing to share their knowledge. I have no way to determine if something is a modern reproduction or legit.

If your into history, that find is likely from a period of time where humans were still chucking spears at Saber-Toothed Tigers? Maybe Wooley Mammoths?. “Ordinary arrowheads” are a relatively modern invention.

I’d absolutely love to find (save) something from that era.

Unfortunately it’s very rare (due to the small population of NA’s in my area at that time to even have the possibility of making a find like that. It’s not an impossibility, but more likely lucky to find something 3000 years old.

I would enjoy seeing whatever else you found in that area.

Painted artifically, so I think Tourist piece
Care to expound with the benefit of additional photos? I don’t see where you have contributed to NA artifact identification in the past. Could it be you were just randomly posting without thinking?

It’s ok we all do that from time to time.

Let’s just be respectful of folks that we might have something in common with.

If I’m mistaken- put me in my place

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it just yet..as of rite now I'm still just learning as much as I can about it lol

Would you mind sharing how you found it? Were you walking fields or creeks, were you sifting for them? I’m just curious for the data. I have a friend that hunts them just over in Louisiana and he said that from what he has found that they liked to camp on top exposed clay hills near creeks. I have a camp I’m trying to find, I have found two points and some flakes that were washed off the top down a logging road. Ive dug test pits and sifted down to the clay but haven’t pinned down the camp site yet, but it’s all super thick with short pine and briers too.

Oh I never dig ..I just walk..no sifting or anything like that ..I don't like to change anything about nature by digging and stuff like that. I know it sounds stupid, I think but we make this world ugly enough..

The squirrels, voles, moles, coyotes, skunks, badgers, foxes, ect will disturb the earth for you if you return each season.

There are actually ways you can make things better by digging, but it requires additional effort on your part, which many people are not willing to do. I’m thinking of mining, not necessarily artifact searching. Clearing of brush and replanting useful plants and trees that are better than what was there prior.

Sometimes you will find lingering herbs and plants that have persisted around ancient camps. They knew how to spread useful seeds or they simply benefited from the harvest through nature. Likely they saw the latter.
