Hello I am new to the forum from south east Indiana and have found what might be an Adena tablet from the woodland era( mound builders) and would like some expert advice? Please and thank you in advance
Nokta FoRs Gold, a Gold Cube, 2 Keene Sluices and Lord only knows how many pans....not to mention a load of other gear my wife still doesn't know about!
I don’t think an arena artist would leave any doubt as to weather or not it was a work of art, speaking as an artist, ..in other words, no guess work, even if it was water worn.
Thanks for the input it was found in a creek under water south of known mounds.it is an inch thick and looks simplistic in color to the lowe tablet found in Ohio 100 or so miles north east. I tried to trace it with pencil lead and no real image was evident
Based on the one edge and the other surfaces in the photos that you found it in water, I would judge it to be a natural water worn smoothed stone. I also agree with newnan man that the stone looks to be sandstone.
