🏆 HONORABLE MENTION Class ring returned to the owner’s widow 58 years after it was lost

Great story. You're a good person to go that far to get it back to her.

I would like to shake your hand and buy you a beer. That was a true act of kindness.

Fantastic! Well done, Sir.. Honorable Mention for sure. Mark up another positive note for our hobby!

You are, indeed, a good man. The return of that ring would be way more valuable to me than the value of the ring. Great job. The world needs more stories like this.

Ditto !!

Congratulations on not only finding the ring but doing everything you needed to do to get the ring back to that woman. A wonderful story...…..

That is such a great story... Many blessings upon you and yours way to go!:notworthy:

Indeed we do need many more....Honorable people who deserve an Honorable Mention! My vote is cast!

There is something in the face, eyes of the woman that reflects hardship and pain. I hope this brief moment of happiness grows for her.

Grease

From talking to her she has had it rough but she really lit up when she got the ring. It really makes me feel good when I can make a return like this. Keep swingin.

I rarely drink except for an occasional sip of wine, but if you are ever in western Maryland you can shake my hand and buy mea slurpee (I’m a sugar junkie). Thanks and keep swingin.

Thanks to all for the continuing nice comments and votes. Keep swingin.

These are some of the coolest honorable mentions, and high school Class rings have been iconic for decades, and I love reading or watching videos on guys taking the time to hunt down the owners like a treasure hunt!

Outstanding effort on your part with a great ending! Salute!!!!

Well done and Honorable mention your calling Good job by a good man

It is great to find neat stuff, but the best parts of detecting are researching what that crazy piece of metal is and tracking down the owners of lost items. You have to be like a detective sometimes. Welcome to treasurenet and good luck as you keep swingin.

I like your line about pre-determined settings. The detector lets you know something is in the ground, it is up to you to choose to dig it. Those are the choices that make the difference in the hunt results.

Thanks for the salute colonel and keep swingin.

Wow, man. You definitely went above and beyond the call getting that ring back to her. You made her day, her week, maybe her whole year. Thank you sir. Your actions give me renewed faith in mankind and go toward gaining all of us a better name in this crazy world.

In a way, I was honored to read this post. You have my utmost respect and thanks.
