Clad to silver

Following the lead of others on this forum, I got rid of $24.00 in pennies and $14.00 in clad, and went to the flea market to see what I could get. Some of the silver is in better shape than others, but they fit my collection. The Buffaloes I got cause I like Buffaloes, and the ones I find usually look rough to say the least. I have plenty of recently cleaned clad, but I'll try to get to a bigger flea market with more variety. Ebay would be nice, but I wonder about shipping cost added to the total. You know, whats the better deal. Anyway, a good cause for the clad, and a stronger motivator to search for clad when not searching pre-64 sites.

I normally do that too, but this next time the clad jar is going to be turned into a Playstation 2!! Happy Hunting!

Great idea upgrading the clad to some better silver. I just bought an American gold $1.00 coin, 1857 for about $36.00 with some clad finds. In Germany , LOL! Nice to save up for accessories too, bought a nice pinpointer awhile back. HH, Mike

WTG!!....a great idea changing clad into silver...keep us up to date on your hunting

Way to go. Looks like you got a lot of bang for your buck. As for eBay....There are a few sellers who don't try and rape you with postal charges, and some even ship for free. Those are the sellers I look for.

I ended the month with 66 silver coins I didn't have in september. 41 were ones I dug....38 dimes and 3 quarters.....while 25 were bought with 69 dollars worth of clad I dug up. I bought larger denomination coins for the most because I am finding lots of dimes.

Congratulations. I'm sure your new acquisitions are more pleasing to the eye than that crusty clad....and it might even appreciate in value. Not a chance of that with the clad.

Wyatt
