north cental ohio
found this coin 10 feet from a very thin 1863 indian cent... 1800 farm house abandoned in the 50's.... in the right light i can see one cent..and some stars on the front... but they dont show up in the pics.... i thought that it was like hammered down on the eges by someone... but its smaller in diameter of this 1849 i found last year... this coin is so thin and light...the indian head is very thin too... is this just from wear?

Re: any ideas on this old coin

in the last photo I see the cen from cent upside down -- man thin is right -- looks like a very wery worn old cent silmar to the 1849 cent you found -- still a great find even if it is very badly worn -- Ivan

The way it' s tapered on the edges it almost looks like a valve face of some type. Maybe a one way valve for an old hand pump or similar device? Monty

I think your token might be this one:

token obv..jpgtoken.jpg

The obverse matches...but I don't know that the reverse does...I'm not much help on ID'ing these...

thanks Buckleboy!!!! yeah i seen that one too...does seem to be a match.. the leaves on the reverse go all the way around with no starting or stopping point... wish i could find out what the bigger one is... not much to go on..just the reeding around the edge and it says ''one cent'' in the middle... thanks man!!!!

Some of the hard times tokens of the 1830's 1840's said "not one cent" on the back. Is it possible your coin says not one cent instead of one cent? Here is an example of one of those tokens.
