I went yard sailing this morning and bought 3 swords at a sale for $50. the one is'
a US Civil War Model 1850 Horstmann Foot Officers
Sword with Etched Blade a bit on the rusty side tho.
one is a US calvery 1840 in super shape just a bit rough on the handle;
and the last one I am stumped on as can not seem to find any like it. so I am asking for help here.
maybe some one can identify it. Thank you.

I have not been able to find any marks and I have a guy that wants to buy them and is offering about 300 to 350 for all 3 of them.

There's a Horstmann on ebay right now with a leather scabbard selling for 360$ with a day left to go. I think I'd hold on to them if I were you and have them checked out

the only one that has a scabbard is the calvery one the other 2 are a bit on the rusty side but I feel I made a real good buy on them and yes I am wondering if he is making a good offer on them. I might see a guy at the flea mkt in the morning and see what he says they are as he is into civil war stuff. thanks for all the info here.

Well I leared quite a bit the 1864 I found out is a 1870 the reason for that is they took the 1864's and nickel plated them in 1870 and befor the plating they had a steel look to them
the odd one I never did find out but they are now in a collection localy here , the guy has well over 70 swords in his collection and is verry knolagable in swords so at least I have a good connection to find out about swords not. Thanks all for the help.
