ive been detecting for a lil over 2 years now and have found some great stuff here in VA, especially civil era items, i have gone over my own property before and did not find any civil war items in it but i have found some in my neighbors yard, well i just recently acquired a wide scan coil for my tesoro tejon and was experimenting in my front yard today and got a decent signal, well i started diggin and kept digging and after about a foot down i got to my target and when i got to it out damn if it wasnt a 1851 style saber belt plate, im still in shock, it was under my nose the whole time, still cant believe it

Nice find.. Congrats got to love digging up civil war treasure..

Amazing find for your own front yard. Probably a few more decent finds awaiting. I've done my yard since '83 and still find stuff when I'm checking out new or repaired MD's. Nothing like your find but the occasional IH.

wow, thats quite the find! very nice

Amazing! Nice save. Virginia has the goodies.

still cant believe it was right under my nose this whole time haha

Nice plate I found one Easter morning this year an took my wife out yesterday on her first run an I actually dug the other part that the buckle hooked into made my day.its great to see yours.put it under glass an imagine what it could tell you if it could talk. Congratulations

Nice! The best thing to come out of my yard was a 3 Merry Widows tin and a Boy Scout badge from the 20s...
